A real apology this time

Sometimes in my attempts to be clever I get carried away. This was the case yesterday when I made a gratuitous comment about Joe Sugarman, world-famous marketer and copywriter (he's the BluBlocker king) and his lovely bride Leila. I speculated that Joe had availed himself of a mail-order bride service. I was reading between the lines on one of Marcy From Maui's blog posts, and obviously I misread this time.

I published Joe's response in the comments section of yesterday's post but wanted to place it here too so it would be more visible. Joe wrote:
No my bride was not obtained on line or off line. I was a judge at the Miss Hungary beauty pageant and she was a contestant. She won. The prize: Ten days on Maui as my guest. The rest is history.
So it was an old-fashioned romance after all, and here's a link to a story from the Maui Weekly that proves it. Once again, Joe and Leila, I apologize. Mea culpa.

And I apologize to the rest of y'all too for my misstatement. There are enough real targets in the New-Wage world, after all. (Such as Tilak, who probably owes the Sugarmans, and Marcy, and very possibly the entire island of Maui a huge apology...)

His (joe)response to you (mostly as an attack) went straight to sex, imagine that. Of course he couldn’t help to go anywhere else because that is his specialty according to him.

Sponsoring a beauty pageant, judging it and then sleeping with the winner sounds pretty much on the up and up to me. I’m glad you apologized. After all he knows Tilak and according to one of Tilaks followers you should be SCARED SHITLESS of Tilak. http://guruphiliac.blogspot.com/2007/03/tilak-heads-east.html

Connie, I sure am sorry about you missing out on feeling like a real woman on the inside. Better luck next time.

Anon, you're getting Joe Sugarman mixed up with Mark "The Seduction King" Ryan, who also responded to that same post. Mark is the one who implied he could make me feel like a real woman, etc., because that is his specialty.

However, I have RevRon to assist me with all of my womanly needs. :-)

I felt I did owe Joe Sugarman an apology because I was misinformed about how he and his wife met. I made a comment that was out of line. Although I don't pretend to be a journalist, and my blog contains speculation and gossip, I will make note of errors when they are pointed out to me.

There is a Tilak connection with Joe Sugarman, though. According to Marcy From Maui, Joe was the one responsible for bringing Tilak to Maui and getting people such as Marcy all fired up about him. Turns out Tilak is a big con artist, as you know. (And I have, on several occasions, provided links to Jody's Guruphiliac posts about Tilak.)

I am giving Joe S. the benefit of the doubt here; I am sure he didn't know about Tilak's background when he first invited the guy to Maui. But I am pretty sure he knows about it now and hopefully has disassociated himself from the man. I actually feel bad for Joe, Leila and Marcy for having been duped.

But maybe if they start reading blogs such as this one and Guruphiliac more often -- or maybe if they occasionally check some of the comprehensive critical sites such as Rick Ross' cult forum -- they won't be so quick to accept the next charismatic spiritual guru who comes down the pike.

Anyway, Anon, thanks for writing, and I hope you keep coming back.

Connie: No need to apologize. You just popped up on my Google search and I thought I would set the record straight. Thanks for your nice comments too.

Joe

And thank you, Joe, for helping to keep this blog as accurate as possible. :-)

connie and Joe,

I apologize to both for jumping to conclusions. I must learn to read what is written not what I'm thinking.

No worries, Anon. I'm always misreading things and jumping to conclusions myself!

Even though there where students at the house this weekend things seemed a little off. The festive meals associate with his weekend intensives seemed to be short on numbers (by about half). That would leave me to think it is becoming harder to recruit people with substantial money to throw away.

I did notice that the few people that were present at this weekend event where from what is left of the San Diego group. Having lost their top recruiter because of extremely bad manners and even worse publicity I can only reflect that these are two misfortunate souls who are oblivious to the truth. The same goes for the LA group who seemed to have also run for cover.

Rumor has it that this recent publicity is causing a calamity in the inner core of the once secret Tilak Empire. Students are running like rats from a sinking ship. Rumor also has it that those individuals who once boasted of sponsoring Tilak in their home (like marcy from maui and herb tanzer,) are now removing him from the websites and blogs and any other place that would link them to him.

Tilak is now searching desperately for anyone who is not informed about him to cash in on their ignorance before he has to move again, or hide behind a new name.

All of this bad news does not keep him from enjoying a night out with his new girl at the gambling tables. I guess since his students are willing to gamble their money on him the lease he could do is gamble it also.

Interesting stuff, Anon. I do know that Marcy From Maui has removed a couple of her blog posts from late October/early November, regarding Tilak's weekend event and birthday celebration. I think that event marked the beginning of the relationship, such as it was, between Tilak and Rhonda Byrne.

There are a few folks on Marcy's Powerful Intentions Forum who still list Tilak as one of their "connections" (interests). Either they haven't heard the buzz or they just haven't bothered to change their profiles yet.

Tilak has fooled so many people before that I imagine it won't be too difficult for him to dupe more folks in the future, whether he assumes a new name or not. And that's sad. People are so hungry for someone to follow.
