Scammy Awards: last chance to vote

It's not too late to vote in the 2009 Scammy Awards, sponsored by Dr. John Curtis of Americans Against Self-Help Fraud. I previously reported that the deadline was 21 March, but I checked with Dr. Curtis, and he said that the hard deadline is midnight EDT, Sunday, 29 March. So you still have a few hours.

And despite the name of the organization sponsoring the awards, you don't have to be American to vote. After all, selfish-help/New-Wage scamming is no respecter of national borders. In fact, I think some of you Aussies out there will be interested to know that one of your countrymen has made the finals, according to Dr. Curtis.

Winners will all be announced during National Guru-Free Week, April 1-8, 2009. Don't miss your chance to participate in this vote. Or, in the words of Dr. Curtis, "Please do your part to ensure that these Self Help Gurus receive the attention they deserve."

Once again, here are the categories:

  1. DUMB SPEAK AWARD: given for the most unintelligent thing uttered by a Self-Help Guru
  2. HYPOCRITE AWARD: given to the Self-Help Guru with the biggest gap between their professed values and how they actually behave
  3. DADDY BIG BUCKS AWARD: given to the Self-Help Guru whose lifestyle shows that they are only in it for the money
  4. HOODWINKED AWARD: given to the Self-Help Guru who did the best job of tricking a celebrity into being their sponsor
  5. BI-POLAR AWARD: given to the Self-Help Guru whose promises got the opposite results
  6. BEST PERFORMANCE IN A MIS-LEADING ROLE AWARD: given to the Self Help Guru who did the best job of deceiving the public
  7. BERNIE MADOFF LIFETIME MIS-ACHIEVEMENT AWARD: given to the best, all around Self-Help Guru who did the most to diminish the human race
You can click here to get to the ballot, or on the graphic above.

Have fun!

Wayne Dyer and David Hawkin, received my nomination for daddy big bucks, and hypocrite awards. In reading the books titled Power vs. Force by David and Power of Intention by Dyer I found myself genuinely questioning their statements. Of course it's one thing to have desperate mindset to believe in space daddy and other spiritual stuff and it's the other thing to hold your self from being the center of your needs and examine the validity of people’s statement.
Happy Norouz and New Year to those who celebrate the first day of spring and its culture. And for those who live in southern hemisphere , I wish you could make it to the north around this time.

I know many people who are really wealthy and value the anonymity they have while enjoying the fruits of their own labor. And I have always believed that those who put themselves on a pedestal and boast about a few things they have bought actually have not achieved anything and they systematically use their deluded belief as inducement to charm people hoping that their actions will help them get whatever it is they think they want. They are attempting to perpetuate their pathetic justifications and claim some God like status because people are running around repeating what they have said but achieving nothing. Woohoo! The industry if full of it and has now ended up one big ego dung heap.

These sorts of people fail to realise that from the smallest act to the biggest deal, oral or written agreement is an agreement that must be honored completely but especially when it involves the business of seducing people to buy from them which is all they are doing. Until they get that lesson they will never meet success and they will continue to be the laughing stock of group gatherings.

From what I have been reading it is as if the area that they surf in has created a totally obsessed group of wannabes fueled by complete delusion thanks mostly to the movie the secret and lets not forget the mlm industry. They all seem to be climbing over the top of one another to have a piece of the pie only to find the pie has been so mashed up it no longer exists in any useful form. They fool nobody in the end, because they remain the losers. It cannot be anything else and that is pretty much what we are seeing.

To anyone who blogs about egotistical nonsense and continuously makes feel good quotes, take a good hard look at yourself and what you are doing because remaining where you are has a sure end. Everyone will get sick of you.

It will be interesting to see who the nominees are. Will I cast my vote? Damn sure I will....
